As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will enhance our client's team capacity to meet and exceed customer expectations by ensuring the seamless and efficient delivery of their services. You will be a critical driver of their growth and ability to deliver on their mission to give everyone the hiring experience they deserve. You'll apply your deep knowledge of their software engineer principles to increase the number of ATS and Video integrations, improve their reliability, and help them deliver on customer commitments. You'll work closely with our client's teams - Product, Design, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success - executing with urgency and agency to help them shape an industry and build an incredible business. 

 

What you'll do

  • Work with product, design, and engineering to develop new backend and full stack features.
  • Occasionally contribute to frontend development tasks (approximately 10% of the role), including configuration of settings pages, Minor frontend modifications, and utilization of a component library to create basic user interfaces
  • Work to deliver new ATS and video integrations, build specialized integrations and features for our client's customers, and help with complex implementations for larger customers.
  • Help improve their SLAs around scheduling, recording, transcription, and producing AI outputs.
  • Work with support to decrease the incoming support volume through targeted engineering work to improve the reliability and robustness of their platform.

 

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of software development experience, primarily in backend development.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python – experience with Flask is a high-value bonus
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL (Postgres)
  • Proficient in React, GraphQL, and Typescript for frontend development
  • Experience with Cloud Providers (AWS and /or GCP)
  • Have an understanding of APIs, databases, and integration with third parties.
  • Have the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Address user needs with a supportive attitude towards customers and team members.
  • Analyze issues meticulously to identify root causes, ensuring thorough testing and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate high project management skills and have the ability to deliver features and fixes quickly and efficiently. 
  • Understand the broader impact of our client's work and have an intuitive sense of what matters to the business and customers. 
  • Clear communicator, both written and verbal, and have the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Fluent in English for effective communication with engineering, product, support, and customers.
